Where did we go wrong with; motion gaming. Gaming that transcends barriers and limitations by bringing the user one step closer to real 1 to 1 interactivity with their video game. Personally I agree that this idea and direction that video games have taken is a good idea; I just don't support the other half of the coin that accompanies it. That being companies pushing out lame game titles that use this technology in a lack luster way that feels outright gimmicky or just tacked on. It's travesties such as these that irk my soul so, as something with this much promise is squandered. Many hardcore gamers having been looking forward to the success of this technology since the days of the Nintendo's Power Glove, and Powerpad. Microsoft Kinect – fastest-selling consumer electronics device

The Guinness World Records 2011 Gamer's Edition is reporting that the recently launched Microsoft Kinect is now the record holder for fastest-selling consumer electronics device. It's 10 million since launch surpasses the previous record holder the Apple iPad, launched earlier in 2010. Guinness World Records said that Microsoft sold eight million devices between 4 November last year and 3 January at an average rate of 133,333 a day. Playstation Move Officially Revealed

The days of a traditional controller for video games seem to be numbered. Sony officially revealed their own addition to the motion and gesture controller wave called the Playstation Move at the annual Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. The PlayStation Move works in tandem with the PlayStation Eye webcam to track the wand-like controller's position and inertial sensors to detect motion. The video game console war is now raging on a new front as Nintendo Wii's MotionPlus, Sony's PlayStation Move and Microsoft's Project Natal are expected to square off later this year. It is no secret that Nintendo is currently winning the war but there are signs that it's momentum is slowing will Microsoft or Sony be able to overtake them? (more…)
