Apple WWDC 2015 debuts OS X 10.11, Watch OS 2.0 and Apple Music

Apple WWDC (World Wide Developer Conference) came a week after Google I/O 2015 on Thursday June 2nd 2015. Unlike Google I/O 2015, held a week prior on Thursday May 28th 2015 and Friday May 29th 2015 which gave us as glimpse into Google's continued obsession with Android with their latest iteration, codenamed M and their projects for the future, Apple's focus was purely on their continuously evolving Apple iOS and Apple Mac OS ecosystem. Developers, the heart and soul of Apple, were the stars for most of the two (2) hour show. After all, 70% of App sales go directly to Developers. With their very strict rules as it relates to what Apps gets into the Apple iTunes Walled Garden, many are willing to comply. So dear reader, all those rumours of coming updates to the Apple iMac and Appl...

Google is now running scared and are apparently not taking any chances. Google I/O is coming Thursday May 28th 2015 and Friday May 29th 2015, but the Android Wear team has decided now is the time for a major update to the Android Wear platform ahead of the Apple Watch Launch. The Apple Watch is yet to land in the hands of customers come Friday April 24th 2015 and already analysts are touting its success, with estimates of 1 million for more according to analyst Cowen and Co. Their figures are nothing but estimates, but it fall in line with earlier estimates by Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster. If true, not only has the Apple Watch thoroughly trounced Google Android Wear sales total of 720,000 Google Android Wear smartwatches sold in all of 2014 but it the Apple Watch may have al...

Kisai Rogue Touch Pocket Watch – Fob Watch for Tron Steampunk Geek Gentlemen

I really love wristwatches. Really do. Would stand stock still gazing at a good wristwatch “oohing” and “aawing” at its design and elegance. Tre magnifique, mon ami! The silly season of Christmas has me thinking crazy thoughts of working extra had to get more money saved up with more hours working at ACS-Xerox (I’m employed as a Customer Service Agent…more on that in another article!!!) and plunking down some money on a good wristwatch. The Apple iPod Nano or even the Phospor Reveal are a few good choices for wristwatches and were the focus of my eagle eye in the article Apple iPod Nano vs Phosphor Reveal – Bling Bling, Playa. Curiously, I am yet to spot any good ones of a similar technology slant or take, as the ones available are just flashy tech imitations that are flesh mechanics...

WIMM Open Architecture Intelligent Wristwach Platform – Android’s Tomorrow Never Dies

Android’s Tomorrow Never Dies indeed! Readers, prepare for another article about my favourite thing to talk about: wristwatches. But not any wristwatch, as this one that will be featured in this article is not Open Source but Open Architecture! This as a venture capital company named WIMM has decided to breathe life into the idea of an intelligent wristwatch, but using a customized version of Google Android. I am surprised that someone even has decided to take a stab at this concept again, as others, inclusive of Microsoft and their SPOT smart Wristwatches or smartwatches, tried and failed. The idea gained traction with me when I noticed the trend of people taking the Apple Nano and making it into a oversized wristwatch, which needs Bluetooth to make it a hit as noted in my article  Pr...

Apple iPod Nano vs Phosphor Reveal – Bling Bling, Playa

In a previous article entitled Prediction: The iPod Nano Watch - Time has a New Standard, I unintentionally exposed myself. Very badly too, as an Apple-philic friend of mine who follows the Geezam Blog pointed out. This individual is not just a user of Apple’s products; she has built a shrine to Apple CEO Steve jobs, a rare thing for any Jamaican. So she took umbrage with even daring to turn the cute, affordable little Apple iPod Nano into another expensive piece of arm candy. Thoughts of “but that’s what you are!” ricochet in my brain, but I managed to escape the conversation with this fair skinned femme fetale Catholic Friend just outside of Juici Beef, ‘front of Young’s Pharmacy in May Pen, ‘bout two (2) fortnights aback. So I shall come out of the broom-cupboard [coughing, sneezi...

Prediction: The iPod Nano Watch – Time has a New Standard

The refresh of Apple products back in September 2010 when it rolled out the US$999 Apple Macbook Air as well as updates to the Apple iPod Touch, Apple iPod Shuffle, and the Apple iTV. However, one of the more curious refreshes ever was that achieved by the Apple iPod Nano, which after the September Press Event, made many wonder if it was in fact a NEW product. After all, it is called the “Nano” because it is small, but the degree by which it shrank was incredible – and annoying. Annoying you say? Indeed so, as its new dimensions have made using the touch screen interface a chore for those of us with large clubbed hands and chubby fingers. Then again, after all, that’s why it is called the Nano. It’s the affordable, ultra-small and cheaper version of the Apple iPod. Can’t afford an Appl...
