Steve Jobs: The Man of Millennium 2, Decade 1

I have been an arch critic of Steve Jobs and Apple on a whole, this stance was in it’s own right a byproduct of my former loyalty to Nokia and Symbian. Steve Jobs and Apple in my late admission, have been the force behind, both directly and indirectly, the destruction of Nokia and Symbian’s market share and market volume. It could be argued that Steve Jobs and Apple indirectly lead to the creation of Android by spuring competition on thanks to it’s new and revolutionary approach to smartphone interactivity. Android booted Nokia and Symbian from the number 1 position back in January and today commands the largest smartphone user group in the world. Though I still harbor strong anti-Apple sentiments I have taken the time out to express my condolences to Job’s family and former co-workers,...

Apple iPhone 4S Post Mortem – Siri Voice Assistant and iMessage Rock

The Apple iPhone 4S launched on Tuesday October 4th 2011AD to much media fanfare in the private cozy setting of Apple’s Town Hall Room at their Headquarters in Cupertino, California located at the Infinite Loop Drive. CEO Tim Cook was the Master of Ceremonies in his own style, with his “Cook” Notes as they may soon come to be called, reserved for the Apple iPod and its eventual future, which I shall reserve for another article. Spoken first in my article Apple iPhone 5 coming in October and the Apple iPad 3 is in the wings! Note I said the Apple iPhone 4S. Not the Apple iPhone 5. Apple Lemmings and Sheep ears droop with those goo-goo eyes filled with tears, their chibi telling their emotions da’te bayo, Naruto Shippuden Style. Then Steven Paul Jobs (1955AD – 2011AD), the Founder an...

Technology Pioneer and Entrepreneur Steve Jobs dies aged 56

Steve Jobs died on Wednesday October 5 from complications related to pancreatic cancer from which he had been suffering from for years. Steve Jobs is one of the greatest entrepreneurs and inventors of his time with a long list of successes spanning decades such as the Apple I, Apple II, Macintosh, Newton, iMac, iPhone, iPad, Pixar. Jobs is also listed as the primary inventor or co-inventor in 338 US patents or patent applications. The corporate website of Apple now displays a grey-scale portrait of Steve along with a short message.  "Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that onl...

Steve Jobs Resigns as Apple CEO – Fourteen years of Innovation with an “I”

An era has ended with the resignation of Apple CEO Steven Paul Jobs. Tim Cook, the Vice President, is now the CEO, with Steve Jobs stepping into the background as Chairman of the Apple Board much as had occurred when Bill Gates stepped down as Microsoft CEO and became Microsoft Chairman. His fourteen (14) years reign as Chief Executive Officer after his return in 1997AD is best chronicled in the below Infographic from Column Five: (click for full view) The innovator born February 24th 1955 to Paul and Clara Jobs nee Hagopian (yes he’s Syrian!) lived in Mountain View, California with no certification in Electrical Engineering started Apple Computers in 1977AD in his Garage with his friend Stephen Gary “Woz” Wozniak. “Woz” did most of the engineering work, while Steve Jobs stuck to the M...

Apple iPad 2 ups the tablet game

The iPad 2 has been on the lips of almost every technology enthusiast for many weeks as Apple officially announced that there was going to be an event on March 2nd. The tech blogosphere was already filled with hundreds of blogposts about rumours pertaining the the second iPad and what features it would or would not have. As expected the Ipad 2 was unveiled and it was "magical". CES 2011 was filled to the brim with tablets all looking to capitalize of the some of the perceived deficiencies of the first generation Apple iPad. The Motorola Xoom and the Samsung Galaxy Tab were two of the android powered rivals expected to give Apple a run for it's tablet money. In September 2010 the iPad had 90% of the tablet computer market by December the competition had nibbled away that Market share dow...
