Nokia Lumia 610 – Review

The Nokia Lumia 610 is is smartphone powered by the Windows Phone operating system that was released last year. It is no secret that Windows phones have been eclipsed in the market and in the minds of many consumers in recent years by phones running the power user friendly Android from Google, the messaging king Blackberry by RIM and the user friendly iOS by Apple. The Nokia 610 is no iPhone or Samsung Galaxy but it is a smartphone that does just enough to carve out it's own niche. It is budget friendly but stylish and most of all it is a practical phone that will do anything and everything the typical user would want to do with an entry-level smartphone. Hardware The Nokia Lumia 610 won't win any beauty contests but is far from being an ugly duckling. It does look and feel like plasti...

InStat prediction that Tablets to Overtake e-Readers is off base

This morning Tuesday June 21st 2011AD, I awoke to a InStat statistical survey that had me confused initially and then annoyed beyond belief. InStat, a Statistical analyst, is proclaiming death to the e-Reader in 2012AD. Say what! Straight to my writing pad, with grist for the mill and an article to draft longhand! InStat’s Stats (no pun intended), is based on its one thousand (1,000) participant strong survey are as follows: 38% own a Tablet 26% own an e-Reader. 15% of Tablets will be for Corporate and Enterprise (think HP TouchPad and Windows 8 Tablets) 60% of future Tablet purchasers want Wi-Fi (IEEE 802.11n) and 3G connectivity Nothing here surprising or out-of-place to write home about!! Ok, calm. Sky is blue, earth is green! On the global shipment side of the coin, I...

Nokia’s shift to Microsoft

It is one of the biggest changes ever made in smartphone history and certainly the biggest change ever made by Nokia. This change has brought countless criticisms with many critics going as far as saying that this was all a move by the CEO to help out his former employer's new but ailing platform. Yes, I am talking about Nokia's dumping of its strategy with Symbian, Qt, Meego, Ovi and just about everything it have brought to the table so far. It is a monumental change, a massive transition that will either make or break Nokia, a truly once in a lifetime change. How did it reach this far? My stance from the start is one of disappointment and confusion at Nokia's strategy. My opinion is that Nokia can not be trusted and anything they say cannot be followed. I can imagine how the thousa...
