Nintendo’s new console is called “Wii U”

So after tonnes of speculation it has been revealed at the 2011 staging of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) that the new console from Nintendo will be called the "Wii U". The actually console was not shown as most of the focus was on the new revolutionary control that is the highlight of the Wii U. Tablet x Controller I'm not sure how I can explain what the Wii U controller is in a simple sentence, but I'll try. If a tablet computer and a video game controller had a baby it would be the Wii U controller - a gaming joypad with a 6.2 inch screen, complete with cameras, dual analog sticks, cameras, buttons, speakers, accelerometer, backward compatibility with the Wii games + hardware and more. Some of the game titles announced include Darksiders II, Dirt, Alien Colonial Marines, Gho...

Console Gaming’s Downfall – Future is up in the Clouds

Console Gaming is on the uptick by some 26% in April 2011 when compared to the same month in April 2010. So says the Analyst NPD in a report released that also indicated that Online Gaming, Social Gaming and Mobile smartphone Gaming were taking a bit out of the Console gamers profitability. Obviously, the Console gamers are seeing a blip driven by newer game titles such as “Mortal Kombat 2011” and “Portal 2”. So this statistics from NPD is irrelevant. But the report in the increase appears to be merely due to improved content and hardware. Especially hardware! Namely the Guinness World Record breaking Microsoft Kinect selling one hundred and thirty three thousand three hundred and thirty three (133,333) devices per day and hitting ten million (10,000,000) devices sold worldwide between N...
