Warner Brothers to make MineCraft movie following Success of The Lego Movie

Well, folks, this was bound to happen sooner or later right? Warner Brothers has inked a deal with the Creator of MineCraft and head of the Game Developer Studio Mojang, , Markus “Notch” Perssons, who lives in Sweden, to make a movie about the popular Community Brick-Building Game, MineCraft. When this bit of news popped up in my Twitter Feed, I thought it was yet another attempt by Hollywood to make another Mortal Kombat or Resident Evil, the last set of movies adapted from Games I knew that were commercially successful. You known, a movie based on a popular Video Game. Is Netflix a Netjoke?

Netflix have been made available to the Caribbean and Latin America for almost a year now since its initial release from September 5-12 and I must say the collection made available is a bit shabby well in a way it’s a bit of a disrespect, if one connects to Netflix via a Caribbean IP in my case a Jamaican IP, the collection of movies and TV shows are about 95% of out dated content (and that is my optimistic figure). Netflix is reporting through their official blog that they plan to start offering their streaming service in Latin America and the Caribbean later this year. The blog post doesn't go into detail about the individual counties only stating that they will expand into 43 countries in the region. I take heart in the fact that Latin America and the Caribbean were separated as too often smaller English speaking counties like Trinidad, Jamaica and Barbados were labeled as Latin America incorrectly with services only provided in Spanish and Portuguese. Caribbean Tech Explosion Internet access and speeds have exploded in the Caribbean in recent years as well as tech-related consumer products such as smart-phones, HD TVs and Video Game consoles. It would be interesting to follow the deployment of...
