Yahoo’s Flickr iOS App Gets an Update

When Yahoo acquired Flickr in 2005, Gizmodo lashed out at it calling it a disaster. Flickr once dominated the scene of photo hosting, sharing, and showcase for photographers. Apparently, Yahoo’s acquisition is deemed to have made Flickr, flicker? Maybe Flickr’s “epic humble brag” -- as Gizmodo puts it -- wasn’t so empty after all. Yahoo Revamps Flickr and ups free storage space to 1 Terabyte

Not long ago Flickr was the undisputed king of the social media hill when it came to photography. However after years of being the leader by being on the bleeding edge of innovation Yahoo allowed the property to stagnate and it was eventually overtaken by newer trendier products such as 500px and other social media offerings such as Facebook, Tumblr, Google+, Instagram which offered more than just a online gallery with a few community and sharing features tacked on. Yahoo has revamped Flickr and increased the available free storage on the site to a whopping 1 terabyte.
