Change the Default Search Engine of any Browser when Malware is on your Computer

And the Crowd goes wild for my article How to reset the Default Search Engine in Mozilla Firefox on changing the Default Search Engine in Mozilla.  Apparently an awful lot of people seem to have the very common problem, as it’s really irritating when your Browser seems to change all by itself to another Search Engine and you had no hand in it. Also note too it isn’t a “Search Engine” but a “Search Engine Provider”, a really fancy-pants way of saying that Search Engine Provider companies offer more Products and Service than just Internet Search in a manner similar to Telecom Providers providing other services other than just Voice Calling. But then begs the question? Who did? Short answer: Malware with a Marketing Agenda, Mad Men style, called adware! First, I’ll explain how one changes ...

Early news out of MWC, LiMo (Linux Mobile) Open Source Firefox OS, which I had mentioned in my article How to reset the default Search Engine in Mozilla Firefox has made its debut on some budget-friendly smartphones from Alcatel Lucent in the form of the 3.5” Alcatel One Touch. Firefox is clearly off to a budget-conscious smartphone start, with partner Alcatel’s One Touch Mozilla Foxy Orange themed single-core 1GHz processor and a 3.2-megapixel. Again the specs reveal the target market: Firefox OS 3.5" Supports HTML5 Single-core 1GHz Qualcomm processor 256MB of RAM 2GB microSD card, upgradable to 32GB 3G, 802.11n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS Alcatel is one of their many illustrious partners, who read like an Assassin Creed List dead set against Google Android: Alcatel ZTE...

How to reset the default Search Engine in Mozilla Firefox

Mozilla Firefox’s become my fave Web Browser ever since I’ve bespoken of the coming demise of the Computer and Laptop at the hands of Tablets in the article How the Apple iPad killed Ultrabooks, Printing and the Mouse as the World Rediscovers Tablets. This as despite PC’s and Laptop’s coming demise, for the many who write about cutting edge of Technology, especially those of us who are just writers, having a Laptop with a working version Microsoft Word, 80GB of Hard-drive space and a fairly decent amount memory (call it ‘bout 1GB) is enough to achieve Writer’s Nirvana. When I write I’m the Most High, Vybz Kartel Style! So it peeved the hell out of me one day while researching an article that Firefox suddenly began redirecting my search queries to Yahoo (Jah know!!?). Make no bones about ...

Chrome 16 beats Firefox and IE8 –Mozilla going Mobile and Cloud OS on Smartphones, Tablets and UltraBoooks

Ever since this bit of news relating to Google Chrome beating out Mozilla Firefox to become No.2 in the race to beat IE6 (Internet Explorer) on December 1st 2011AD in Kelroy’s article Chrome overtakes Firefox to Become World’s 2nd most Popular Browser back in December 2011AD, which I geekily refer to as the “Browser Wars”, I have been a bit troubled. This is as since then Google Chrome OS 15 has reportedly beaten out IE8 to become the most popular Browsers globally a mere two (2) weeks later as confirmed on December 15th 2011AD by analyst StatCounter, slowly becoming my favourite analyst along with IHS iSuppli for articles. What is to become of non-profit Mozilla Firefox’s cash-cow support of Google as the preferred default Search Engine whenever you type things into Mozilla Firefox’s Se...

Chrome overtakes Firefox to Become World’s 2nd most Popular Browser

Web analytics firm StatCounter is reporting that as of Novermber 2011 Google Chrome has overtaken Mozilla Firefox to become the second most popular web browser worldwide behind Internet Explorer. Chrome has for months now been the only major browser experiencing growth as more and more users get attracted by it's speed and features such as easily syncing bookmarks and separating each open tab in it's own session so that if one tab crashes the entire browser doesn't have to be restarted. Seeing that Geezam.com is a Caribbean based blog I looked through the browser statistics on StatCounter.com and realized that that Google Chrome is also the top browser in many Caribbean countries such as Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaica. Looking at our own visitor stats for Geezam.com showed th...
