KSAC to launch Paid Parking powered by Quisk and Digicel Business App

Paid Parking is coming back to Kingston. Not surprisingly, payment may also be powered by mobile money start-up, Quisk, developed by AISL (Advanced Integrated Systems Limited) and Digicel Business, the business arm of Digicel Jamaica. The KSAC (Kingston and St Andrew Corporation) is seeking to have motorists pay for parking in the following areas: Crossroads Downtown Kingston Half-Way-Tree New Kingston Donovan Samuels, councillor for the Tivoli Gardens division on Tuesday, moved a resolution at the KSAC's monthly meeting to have Paid Parking. There is a need for Paid Parking to collect the much-needed revenue to help with the cost of road maintenance as well as promoting law and order, both of which put a strain on the finances of the KSAC. Quisk, already mode...

Caricel’s Unlimited Modems implies FLOW and Digicel going Unlimited in 2017

Christmas hasn't come yet but Caricel is making Students feel extra special for 2017. So says their ad that appeared in the Sunday Gleaner dated December 3rd 2016. Caricel is oddly silent on Social Media, save for their latest tweet on their Caricel Twitter Page: https://twitter.com/CaricelJamaica/status/806142481096179712 Currently being built with the help of Comtech and Alepo as explained in Caricel’s LTE network to be deployed by Comtech and Alepo, they've quietly rolled out their 4G LTE services for 2017 with two (2) Modems: Novatel Mifi Huawei LTE Modem Huawei LTE Modem is black in colour and has a removable Li-Ion Battery, suggesting that this modem is mobile and not fixed in any one location. Given that it's compatible with Windows Vista, XP, 2000, Mac OS X ...

How Digicel plans to make Customers feel #GetGifted This Christmas

Digicel Fans, it's time to #GetGifted. Digicel has yet again pulled out the stops in their #GetGifted Christmas Promotion as per their post on their Digicel Jamaica Twitter Page:   https://twitter.com/DIGICELJamaica/status/799984082004361216 I knew that Digicel was up to something as pointed out Digicel Sovereign Village Portmore launch heralds Huge Christmas Promotion and they've not failed to deliver. Launched on Friday November 18th 2016 on Smile Jamaica, their promotion seems to be a copycat of FLOW Jamaica Christmas Promotion as you can notice on Digicel Jamaica Twitter Page: https://twitter.com/DIGICELJamaica/status/799602831577620480 They're also had some early winner as can be seen below: https://twitter.com/DIGICELJamaica/status/799594462997598208 ...

How a QR Code Reader can add FLOW and Digicel Credit using Mobile Money

One of my pet peeves is adding FLOW credit to my cellphone. For that the USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) code is as follows: *121*[voucher number] # and send (like duh!) If you’re sending a voucher to a friend, don't text it, Double 2 it as shown below: *129*2*2#, Send and then follows the prompts (you really read this?!) If it’s already on your phone, then you can do a ME2U as follows: *128*[1876-Recipient's Phone number]*[25 to 1000 dollars]# I say “cellphone” as I’m yet to upgrade to the smartphones that FLOW is currently marketing as part of their Christmas Promotion as detailed in Flow Jamaica Christmas 2016 Promotion. The problem? Reading those small itty-bitty numbers where the “8” sometimes look like “0” and the other numbers can look like ot...

How Jamaicans on FLOW and Digicel access GOJ Websites without a Data Plan

Jamaicans will now be able to access GOJ (Government of Jamaica) websites without having to use up Megabytes or even having a data plan. So it's not Just Facebook that's getting the royal treatment from Digicel Jamaica as I’d pointed out in Free Digicel Facebook Flex and Free Basic is unlimited Data for Smartphone users; it's also every GOJ website. This arrangement is possible thanks to negotiation between the Ministry of Science, Technology and Energy and the Telecom Providers FLOW Jamaica and Digicel Jamaica. This is effectively unlimited Data to visit the ninety five (95) Government websites as listed below: Access To Information http://www.ati.gov.jm/ Agri-Business Council http://www.agribusjamaica.org/ Agricultural Support http://www.assp.gov.jm/ Airports A...

Gamers Roll Out; The Cross Country Tour May Be Coming To You

Greetings one and all; here to shed some light on a big event currently happening across Jamaica that you might not be aware of. To give some context on the matter let me introduce you to the main driving force behind eSports in Jamaica right now. Enter Isaiah-Triforce M. Johnson; CEO and Gaming World Record Holder of Empire Arcadia. You can check out a detailed interview with more information on him here ----->(click this link). With all the work he had done last year organizing and partly hosting the Digicel World DigiCup Event their gaming events it was no surprise that other Jamaican powerhouse companies took notice. Next up came LIME to throw in their bid into eSports with the LIME eSports Intergration Challenge, which he was more than happy to help them organize and get up and run...
