Quicks Tips for new Star Wars: The Old Republic players

Star Wars: The Old Republic has burst unto the MMO scene and is already enjoying a healthy following. Reviews and opinions so far have been mixed but slightly more positive. Many gamers know that an MMORPG is never really truly "complete" and it is up to Bioware, EA and their teams to ensure that they game receives regular updates, fixes and fresh content to keep the players satisfied. I have been playing SWTOR since I received my early access email in mid December and below are some quick tips for players new to Star Wars: The Old Republic. Rested XP - Rested XP is a mechanic used in many MMOs that allows players to gain experience points above the normal rate for a period of time after logging off in a safe zone or city. In Star Wars the Old Republic rested XP can be gained from ...

Star Wars: The Old Republic to make a big splash in the MMORPG pool

Massively Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Games have come a long way since the days of Ultima Online and Everquest. The genre has seen massive growth on the back on every increasing internet speeds, newer and better computers and more and more persons having access to games and the internet. These days there are literally hundreds of MMOs in various fantasy, historical, real life and scifi lands but the biggest shark in the pool has for a a long while been World of Warcraft. I have for as long as I can remember been an avid gamer and I remember trying my hand at WoW in it's early days but it was a pass-time that didn't stick for various reasons. Before that I had dabbled with Final Fantasy XI plus many more paid and free MMOs between then and now and my most recent MMO "trial" came with ...

The beta was for the most part a smooth process, doing its job by giving testers a taste of what they can look forward to from SWTOR or perhaps reaso...

Dragon Age 2 – Full Review

With new writers, art direction and gameplay Dragon Age II, the sequel to 2009’s highly acclaimed Dragon Age: Origins, is almost a completely different game so much so that it might be unfair in comparison if it doesn’t stack up to the original. Story The Good: Frame narrated by the blinged dwarf Varric you are now along for the ride as you experience Hawkes rise as the incidental “Champion of Kirkwall”. The story is made of grey morality meaning no one is good or bad it’s all up to your values. Neutral: A number of revisions to the cultures of the elves and Qunari have also been made The Bad: The quest and story progression is setup to feel that your decisions and life just incidentally lead up to the climaxes of the story but doing so removes a sense direction and making yo...

Mass Effect 2

Well I completed Mass Effect 2 and I must say I found it rather entertaining especially compared to its predecessor, when Mass Effect was released it caused a lot of waves in the ocean of the gaming world at the time from what I can remember was for its strong story, and an almost "give you total control" command system over your team and the interactivity and decisions system. I'm a sucker for a good storyline so when I saw Mass Effect on sale I jumped right on it only to be overall disappointed. I found the Command System of your team mates bugged at times one has to repeat the same command too often for the AI to actually execute what you would like or they may get stuck in a previous command and even for an "Action RPG" I found the main story to be rather short, while the remainder of ...
