Modern App Development done right

Research shows that mobile users are spending 86% of their mobile time on mobile apps. Not only are they using apps to access daily information, but their engagement with brands is likewise migrating to apps, with 68% of mobile users engaging with brands via apps. Hence why more and more companies within Jamaica and the Caribbean have been making investments in app development. Kudos for this!! However there are right and ill-advised ways to going about this; 1. Understand who your target market is - is it the tech savvy power user, is it the moderate can figure there way around or the non-technologically savvy user. Knowing this will shape the User Experience put into developing your app. 2. Don't go big early - I know we are all perfectionist and want to ensure all t...

New Year, New You? Get a New App! #NYResolution Check-in

Here we are. Its mid February and i am in shock. Just yesterday i was rolling over to the dawn of a whole new year and some how, between the yawning and stretching, a month ran past! Apart of that rolling over into the New Year process began with me doing something that a bazillion other people across the world did also. Yes, those things. Resolutions. Exciting to write but oh so difficult to keep. Or are they? I sat down and spoke to a few people just like me and you who have been working on keeping their resolution achievement on track with a few apps that maybe you would find useful...

Android Market re-branded Google Play in a effort to better showcase digital content

Google has re-branded Android Market in it's latest effort to attract a bigger piece of the digital pie. With services like Google Music, Google Books etc it seemed that the big G was splinttered and unorganized agaist the likes of iTunes and Amazon who have more streamlined and accessible systems. Google Play is (hopefully) the fix for that and will cover Google's music, books, movies, apps and gaming offerings under one umbrella and recognizable name. Google is still playing catchup however but with Android devices being so popular all over the world it may be a stroke of genius. Starting today, Android Market, Google Music and the Google eBookstore will become part of Google Play. On your Android phone or tablet, we’ll be upgrading the Android Market app to the Google Play Store ...
