Caribbean Blog Awards set for December 5

The Jamaica Blog Awards has returned after a hiatus and returned with increased scope as the Caribbean Blog Awards. The awards were created to honour the best in blogging, celebrating the leading online content creators for the region. Nominations for the inaugural Caribbean Blog Awards are now open and runs until November 22nd 2014 before the Awards event at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel on December 5th 2014. Google I/O Conference indicates that at the Dawning of the Sun, they are still on track to take over the World, at least in your Home and Automobiles, Pinky and the Brain Style. I’d long predicted this was coming in 2015 when they’d mentioned it at Google I/O back in 2011 as prophesied in Apple’s Revolution: Android @ Home and IceCream Sandwich in 2015AD. Social Media Day 2014 Tweetup set For June 30th

The Spanish Court Hotel in Kingston will be the host venue for the official Social Media Day 2014 Tweetup on June 30th from 6pm to 9pm. Social Media Day or #SMDay was first started by popular tech blog Mashable in 2010 to highlight the growth of technology and the "digital revolution". Now in is fifth staging #SMDay is expected to be held in hundreds of locations in various counties all over the globe. Steam Machine by Valve - Kemory Grubb For 2014, my prediction for gadget/technology of the year, will be the Steam Machine by Valve. The hardware specs, the controller, the operating system, the price, the content delivery platform and company behind it all. All these reasons are more than enough to justify my choice but i will single out the most important reason why i think it will succeed - the competition. Current-gen game consoles such as the Xbox One or the PS4 can't compete against a platform that uses regular PC hardware.
