  • 16% of all purchases made through e-commerce sites

  • 26% of all purchases at e-commerce websites coming from Tablets and smartphones by 2017

  • 65% of all e-commerce sales coming from Tablets

  • US$26 billion to be spent by US Residents shopping on e-commerce websites from Tablets

In summary, eMarketer expects to see an increase in e-commerce website activity all thanks to mobile computing devices, especially Tablets:

  • 15% rise in total e-commerce spending during 2013 Christmas period

  • US$61.8 billion in total e-commerce spending during 2013 Christmas period

  • 64% increase in total spending on e-commerce websites in 2013 when compared to 2012

  • US$262.3 Billion total spending on e-commerce websites in 2013 when compared to 2012
