“Schneider Electric is the global specialist in energy management, a leadership role that comes with great responsibility and commitment……”
Marketing Communications Manager for Schneider Electric, Caribbean Region, Manuel Gonzalez, commenting on the donation to the International Red Cross and SOS Attitude
Schneider Electric, the global specialist in energy management and automation, made a significant donation to the Hurricane Irma relief efforts. On September 21, 2017 they donated 1000 of their Mobiya TS170 S LED lighting systems to the International Red Cross and SOS Attitude, as a way to support the disaster recovery efforts in the Caribbean islands affected by Hurricane Irma.
As part of Mobiya’s line of portable lighting solutions, these water-resistant multifunction solar lanterns provide up to 48 hours of light with one day of solar charging, while allowing users to charge mobile devices at the same time.
In addition, the company recently made a similar donation to the American Red Cross to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey in Texas, where it will continue to work with local employees and clients to provide assistance and electrical safety information to areas recovering from the disaster.
As pointed out by Marketing Communications Manager for Schneider Electric, Caribbean Region, Manuel Gonzalez, this was a part of their ongoing effort to give access to electricity to people with limited access around the world, quote: “Therefore, in the wake of catastrophes such as these, we have the duty to provide affected communities with our resources and solutions, the result of years of research and development in the field of access to energy—an issue in which Schneider Electric invests considerably toward closing the gap for 1.1 billion people currently without access to energy”.
As part of its mission, Schneider Electric develops sustainable solutions that enable developing countries to provide reliable, safe and efficient energy sources to those who do not have access to them, and also support the hundreds of millions of people living in fuel poverty in mature countries.
By developing inclusive business models, customized solutions and programs that provide social and innovative strategies, Schneider Electric contributes to poverty alleviation and environmental protection in an innovative and economically sustainable way.
