Periscope is somewhat of a rising start in the social media world. Since its launch on iOS and Android earlier this year the Periscope team has churned out features often and ironing out many of the kicks associated with their real-time live streaming platform.
One of if not the most requested feature for Periscope has been the need to be able to broadcast and view in landscape mode; today that feature was added to the jubilation of many of its users (myself included).
When we first launched Periscope, we only supported portrait broadcasting. As much as we’re fans of portrait video, we know that there are times where the scene you’re trying to capture is best expressed in landscape. We know the community has been craving this feature — we wanted to be thoughtful about our approach to ensure a seamless experience across all of our platforms (iOS, Android and Web).
