Huawei has launched an advertising campaign in Britain as announced June 9, 2020. The aim is for Officials reconsider the Chinese technology company’s role in supplying equipment for the country’s next-generation high speed mobile networks.

The company took out full-page ads in British national newspapers outlining its commitment to providing mobile and broadband companies with equipment for fifth-generation networks.

Vice President Victor Zhang said Huawei had been in Britain for 20 years, during which time it had helped build the 3G and 4G mobile networks, and was committed to continuing to develop the connectivity the country needs.

Huawei was granted a limited role in January to build the U.K.’s new high-speed 5G networks. However, last week the U.K’s National Cyber Security Centre began a review to examine the impact new U.S. sanctions against Huawei could have on the country’s networks, officials said.

The U.S. restrictions on foreign semiconductor makers unveiled last month are aimed at limiting Huawei’s ability to use American technology, escalating a geopolitical battle between Washington and Beijing over industry development and security.

The sanctions “will definitely damage the global supply chain of the semiconductor industry, which lots of industries rely on,” said Huawei Vice President Victor Zhang told reporters on a conference call. Still it is early days, as it is too soon to draw a conclusion about the impact of the British ban.

Only a 5G can enable such a rapid transition, as not only will it make a recovery faster, but it will also usher in the age of cryptocurrency and enable transactions to occur faster and more smoothly over reliable 5G Networks built on Huawei Technology.

“Britain needs the best possible technologies, more choice, innovation and more suppliers, all of which means more secure and more resilient networks.”

The ads will run in national newspapers, business publications and online for three to four weeks.
