FLOW Jamaica’s 2 Day 100MB and 3Gb plans coming as Unlimited Plans beckon

FLOW Jamaica Mobile Internet is on the move again. And just like the last time, they’re adjusting their prices; all part of the perils of having 1 million customers as noted in FLOW Jamaica Network Outage due to 1 Million Satisfied Customers.

As of Friday October 28th 2016, the prices of Prepaid mobile Data, which last changed on Saturday August 20th 2016 as noted in FLOW Jamaica new Data Plans as FLOW ID, My FLOW App and Streaming Needed will be as follows:

Plans Price Data Allotment MVP AutoRenewal
2 day $ 100 100 Mb No  No
3 days  $ 200 300 Mb Yes No
7 days  $ 400 400 Mb  Yes   Yes
30 days  $ 700 750 Mb Yes Yes
30 days $ 1,000 1.5 Gb Yes Yes
30 days $ 1,750 3 Gb Yes Yes
Pay per use $45/MB N/A N/A N/A

Flow has eliminated the 3 Day 75MB plan that usually cost JA$75 and has replaced it with a 2 day 100 Mb plan that costs JA$100. It’s somewhat competitive to Digicel’s 2 Day Starter Plus that gives you 250MB and costs JA$150 as noted in Digicel 4G Prepaid Plan prices increase but no Streaming or Mobile Money.

They’ve finally discontinued the 15 Day 300MB for JA$300, as many eagle-eyes Jamaicans may have noticed that there is already a 3 day 300 Mb for JA$200. FLOW Customer Care agents must be rejoicing, as they’ll have a whale of a time explaining that to callers when they call in the simple question: why and how come.

Also, in a move to give more value to their 1 million customers, they’ve adjusted the 30 Day 1GB for JA$800.00 to 30 Day JA$1000 for 1.5GB, which translates to more megabytes for just an additional JA$200.  A similar thing has also been done to the 30 Day 2GB for JA$1500; it’ll now be moved to JA$1750 for 3GB, or basically JA$250 for 1GB more data.

Benefits of Data changes – Unlimited Plans for Modems and Streaming on the Horizon

FLOW Jamaica seems to be adjusting the prices of their Prepaid Data Plans almost monthly as they jostle to compete with competition from Digicel 4G Mobile and LTE as pointed out in Digicel 4G Prepaid Plan prices increase but no Streaming or Mobile Money.

This might seem a tad sudden and unfair when compared to the previous data plans as shown below.

Plans Price Data Allotment USSD Activation Text Activation Auto Renewal
3 Days $75 75 MB *146*3*1# 75MB to 145 No
3 Days $200 300 MB *146*3*2# 300MB to 145 No
7 Days $400 400 MB *146*7*1# 400 MB to 145 Yes
15 Days $300 300 MB *146*15# 301 to 145 Yes
30 Days $700 750 MB *146*30*2# 302 to 145 Yes
30 Days $800 1 GB *146*30*3# 303 to 145 Yes
30 Days $1,500 2 GB *146*30*4# 304 to 145 Yes
Pay as You Use $45/MB N/A N/A N/A

It’s really more of an adjustment of prices based on customer response to surveys. FLOW Jamaica is trying to satisfy customers, who are increasingly vocal on social media and complaining to the CAC (Consumer Affairs Commission) and the OUR (Office of Utilities Regulation) about losing Data plans and credit due to Data plans.

The prices are being restructured monthly to adjust to the whims and fancies of FLOW Customers while making sure the company makes profit.

So this is proof that complaining to the CAC and OUR works; at least FLOW Jamaica customers now have a 2 day 100 Mb plan that costs $100 and 30 Day JA$1750 for 3GB. Also Auto Renew still applies for 7 Day and 30 Day plans and MVP is still applicable on the 3 Day, 7 Day and 30 Day plans as pointed out in How to Talk EZ Peeps can Activate the FLOW MVP Plan.

It’ll also make Deezer Streaming adoption that much easier, as 3GB is just enough to accommodate Streaming after the Taste and Buy Data plan expires at the end of October 2016 as noted in Deezer offers 1GB Taste and Buy Music Streaming on FLOW Jamaica.

One day, we’ll soon see an unlimited Data plans on Modem Dongles, potentially heralding the coming of MiFi Modems as predicted in FLOW Jamaica MiFi helps you use Prepaid Mobile Internet Plan wisely and other perks!!!

FLOW Jamaica family, one step at a time towards that lofty unlimited goal…..next stop FLOW Landline and FLOW Cable Internet and this no-working-so-well Horizon service!! Sharing is caring so share this article with your friends, encouraging them to switch to FLOW Jamaica!
