Twitter Announces @anywhere Service

Twitter has unveiled their new @anywhere service at the South by Southwest festival in Austin, Texas. @anywhere will allow internet users to interact with websites and website users. Website developers would be able to add @anywhere functionality to their websites by using a simple Javascript code. Amazon, AdAge, Bing, Citysearch, Digg, eBay, The Huffington Post, Meebo, MSNBC.com, The New York Times, Salesforce.com, Yahoo!, and YouTube are some of the major websites that they report will use the service right away but no date has been set for when it will officially come on-stream but it is expected soon. Playstation Move Officially Revealed

The days of a traditional controller for video games seem to be numbered. Sony officially revealed their own addition to the motion and gesture controller wave called the Playstation Move at the annual Game Developers Conference in San Francisco. The PlayStation Move works in tandem with the PlayStation Eye webcam to track the wand-like controller's position and inertial sensors to detect motion. The video game console war is now raging on a new front as Nintendo Wii's MotionPlus, Sony's PlayStation Move and Microsoft's Project Natal are expected to square off later this year. It is no secret that Nintendo is currently winning the war but there are signs that it's momentum is slowing will Microsoft or Sony be able to overtake them? (more…)

Google Introduces Buzz for Gmail

Google has dipped it's toe into the social networking pool before but it official dived in today with the revelation of Google Buzz - a new service it described as "a Google approach to sharing". Comparisons have already been drawn with the current social networking kingpins Twitter and Facebook but just how useful will Buzz be? After months of rumors and speculation about a pending new device to be released by Apple Inc on January 27th the official iPad tablet computer was revealed. Some call it nothing more than a bigger iPod touch or iPhone, some think it will revolutionize mobile personal computing, some can't get over making fun of the name. While I personally think the person who signed off on the name of this product should be shot (even if it is Steve Jobs), I'm willing to look beyond the awkward name and look at the device itself and see what it offers it's users.
