The Apple iPhone 5 is coming in October 2011AD. Or if the latest sounding from AllThingsD’s John Paczkowski, the much anticipated Apple event is slated to occur sometime next week, probably on Tuesday October 4th 2011AD at Apple Campus located at the Infinite Loop Drive in the city of Cupertino, California.

Nothing new to report, as none of the Apple rumours have panned out, despite my many speculations about the possibility about their being two (2) Apple iPhones, one of which would be a budget Apple iPhone ( I call it an Apple iPhone 4S!) aimed at those still toting a “feature” phone and wanting to trade up to something more modern without the hassle of a contract plan as per my article Towards a cheaper Apple iPhone – Batteries Not Included.

So I am pleased like a Lion to note that albeit the date is in doubt, there is no doubting the slip of tongue made by Apple Board member Al Gore, who made it known at the Discovery Invest Leadership Summit in South Africa that not one (1), but two (2) Apple iPhones coming, in effect confirming months of prior speculation. Something, folks, is in the offing, to be my overly dramatic self.

Albeit other analysts such as Wedge Partners analyst Brian Blair have pointed out it is really only one Apple iPhone 5, and not a pair including a cheaper Apple iPhone 4S, I am just hoping that they get this thing over with…..If only so I can start reading about Apple iPad 3 rumours, which appears to be in the pipeline.

This as production numbers for the Apple iPad 2 has cut their projected shipments by 25% according to reports from JP Morgan analysts in Bloomberg. If it is true, then it is about time; Android Tablets are spreading like the plague, now commanding a significant percentage of global marketshare as stated in my article Android Tablets gain on the Apple iPad – Here Comes the Hot Steppa.

His exact words, quote: “Not to mention the new iPhones coming out next month. That was a plug.” I admit, it is not much to go on, but certainly it is pretty strong evidence, even it appears to be a DELIBERATE slip of tongue on the part of the media savvy former Vice President Al Gore.

Hopefully, this new Apple iPhone 5, whose specs in terms of hardware and software are completely unknown along with everything else will up the ante with an improved A6 Processor packing some Quad-Core guns. This as Nvidia is set to debut its Kal-El Quad-Core successor to its much loved Tegra 2 Dual-Core processors are reported in my earlier article Nvidia and the Quad-Core Kal-El CPU – Android leaves A5 Dual-Core Processor in the Dust.

October 4th awaits…….and with the coming days, a slow trickle of actual information I can get excited about.
