Angry Birds is a puzzle game that flew unto the scene just over a year ago and since then has been a runaway success. Developed by Finland-based Rovio Mobile the game has been downloaded on various platforms over 50 million times as players take control of a flock of birds that are attempting to retrieve eggs that have been stolen by a group of evil green pigs.

Various versions of Angry Birds have been released on various platforms and I myself have been woefully addicted to the android version of the game from it first came out. THe evolution of ANgry Birds continue as it was recently announced that there will be a version of the game released in March 2011 that will be tied into the animation movie named “Rio” that will be in theaters around the same time. About Rio

From the makers of the hit Ice Age series, Rio is a comedy-adventure about taking a walk on the wild side. Blu is a domesticated Macaw who never learned to fly, living a comfortable life with his owner and best friend Linda in the small town of Moose Lake, Minnesota. Blu and Linda think he’s the last of his kind, but when they learn about another Macaw who lives in Rio de Janeiro, they head to the faraway and exotic land to find Jewel, Blu’s female counterpart.

In Angry Birds Rio, the original Angry Birds are kidnapped and taken to the magical city of Rio, where they eventually escape their captors and set out to to save their friends, Blu and Jewel – two rare macaws and the stars of the upcoming Fox motion picture, Rio. Angry Birds Rio will pair the physics-based gameplay of the original game with unique twists based on the highly-anticipated film.
