Formerly known as “Project Natal”, Kinect is an expansion to the Xbox 360 video game console that adds a controller free gaming and entertainment. Based around a webcam-style add-on peripheral for the Xbox 360 console, it enables users to control and interact with the Xbox 360 without the need to touch a game controller through a natural user interface using gestures, spoken commands, or presented objects and images.
Kinect Sensor
The Kinect sensor is a horizontal bar connected to a small base with a motorized pivot, and is designed to be positioned lengthwise below the video display. The device features an “RGB camera, depth sensor and multi-array microphone running proprietary software”, which provides full-body 3D motion capture, facial recognition, and voice recognition capabilities. The price point for the device is $150.
Kinectimals, Joyride, Kinect Sports, Kinect Adventures and Dance Central are some of the games available at launch.

One response to “Xbox 360 Kinect released today”
This is an accessory that I will certainly look past I play games to sit back and relax not to get myself worked up or to get exercise if I wanted a work I would go kick and or throw a ball or something, I also forsee some issues with the voice recognition software especially if you arr someone with an accent & or games with movement/motions thst execute/look similiarly but are two different actions.
