Sony’s Gamescon 2011 conference brought news of a reduction of the price of the Playstation 3 and the introduction of a cheaper PSP model. With the Playstation Vita’s US and European launch delayed until 2012 Sony announced that new base model PS3s will now sell for $250 in North America, €250 in Europe, and ¥24,980 in Japan.

PSP E-1000

The new budget PSP with a few design modifications and no WiFi capability is dubbed the he PSP E-1000 and will cost a measly  €99 about  €40 less that the PSP-3000. This looks like Sony’s attept to counteract the recent reduction in price for the Nintendo 3DS – at least in Europe.
