The new Samsung Galaxy S7 has been officially announced at Samsung’s Unpacked event. The high-end smartphones with great design keeps iterating each year and in 2016 the Samsung S7 has made bigger splash just from its announcement that the S6 did last year. Before I look through the notable features and upgrades for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge check out the video below.

The S6 a step forward in design and use of premium materials but took a step back by stripping expandable storage, water-proofing and a few other Galaxy staples. The Samsung Galaxy S7 has restored those features and revamped some of the excellent features of the galaxy S6 such as the camera, processor and design. Below are the 5 killer features of the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge that will make Smartphone lovers want to buy one or existing Galaxy series owners want to upgrade.

Powerful Camera

The front and back facing cameras of the Galazy S6 and S6 Edge now has an aperture of 1.7. This means more light to the camera’s sensors resulting in better low light pictures, better focus and depth-of-field. The dual pixel 15mp rear camera with Canon’s Smart OIS technology means the camera is better than its predecessor despite the smaller megapixel rating.

Hello again Expandible Storage

The MicroSD slot is a staple of the Android phone and its removal in the S6 and S6 Edge probably caused the biggest gripe in the Android phone community. Samsung listened at the expandable memory slot is back with the possibility to upgrade upt to 200GB – plenty of storage for the video, photography and gaming horder who install a lot but barely deletes.

Lovely Curves

As phones got bigger and bigger they became harder and harder to hold. Even those with big-enough hands often had trouble using their 5 inch+ devices for an extended period. The S7 addresses this now with 3D curved glass on both the front and back which Samsung says “emulats the form of a three-dimensional water drop”.

Gaming next frontier with Vulcan API support

Gaming on a mobile phone is big business. So what if you could build better games which are more efficient with better graphics and provide more challenging experiences? In steps Vulcan API; an open source framework aimed at multi-threading. So all those individual cores of modern smartphones such as the S7 and S7 Edge will now be able to accessed and tasked individual for gaming activities.
