According to recent statistics, digital infrastructure, represented by the broadband Internet, has surpassed highway infrastructure in terms of economic importance, contributing a large percentage to global economic output. ICT is playing a more and more crucial role in helping nations worldwide develop their economies and enhance their overall national competitiveness.
Chenyue continued: “The theme of our Roadshow is ‘Open ROADS for a Better Connected World’ because Huawei strongly believes that we must provide ubiquitous broadband connectivity, enable agile innovations everywhere and bring a superior technology experience to everyone at an affordable price. We want to work with Jamaica on their journey to economic growth through ICT. In addition, as part of the efforts Huawei makes to the development of ICT in the country and our social responsibility, the Exhibition will be opened to 45 selected university students from both UWI and UTECH. This will allow them, Jamaica’s young talents, to learn more about ICT technologies, industry trends and Huawei.”
